Pinnacle Imports is a fine wine and beer distributor located in Birmingham, Alabama. Owned and operated by Larry Wilkin and his daughter Kim, Pinnacle is a wine and beer wholesaler of unsurpassed quality.

In 1996, Larry and his wife Bev were looking for a new venture in which to build and develop during their years of retirement. Both having a passion for wine and travel, they decided to open a Burgundy import house. In their eyes, Pinnacle Imports was designed to be a small hobby, but when the first container arrived worth more than $100,000.00, their hobby instantly became a business. Ironically, Kim’s first week at Pinnacle was the same week as the first container.

While selling Burgundies in many states including New Jersey, Texas and Georgia, we decided to open our doors and operate as a wholesaler in Alabama as well. From the beginning, the love of Burgundian style Pinot Noir lead us to our first domestic wineries, Foris Vineyards and Torii Mor from Oregon. Today, domestically, we represent over 40 California wineries, 15 Oregon and 4 from Washington State.

Although, we are no longer an importer of fine Burgundy, our decision to become an Alabama distributor has held fast. Today, we have over 20 employees, and more than 60 domestic brands and 15 importers.

2009 brought two incredible additions to the business of Pinnacle. In June, we became a craft beer distributor. What a fantastic ride it’s been! The business of beer has been great fun and a great experience for all of us at Pinnacle. We’re so excited about our new relationships with brewers throughout the US and abroad. In addition to beer, in December we became licensed in the state of Florida as a wine and beer distributor. This is a new adventure that will unfold throughout the years to come. We will become the strongest distributor throughout the Panhandle of Florida.

As always, our focus has been one of honesty and integrity with quality of service and quality of wine. We’ve had great success in the past and will continue to strive for success in the future.
